Last year,we saw our business grow by 38%. And this year, our 95th as a family-owned business, we are on pace to eclipse that. That means we need more techs. Not just any techs, but the best. That's why we are advertising the position in your area and not just N. Wisconsin.
Raising a family in urban and suburban areas is becoming more and more difficult. Careers in urban centers just do not pay like they used to after the economy took a tank in 2008. We've found that high-functioning HVAC Technicians are having a hard time getting enough hours to support their families, build their careers, stay up to date on certifications, or put their kids through college. That's a big reason behind why we are advertising this position around the country. You have worked too hard to get to the level of skill that you have...only to end up in a dead-end career and all the struggles that come with that.
We are very proud to call Northern Wisconsin "home" for nearly 100 years. Our service area dozens of vibrant towns and communities to fit any taste, dream, or family.
Our springs and summers are spent on the lakes, in the woods, and visiting all the local events and farmers markets. We have some of the best fishing in the country (the owner, Phil Frasier, is an avid muskie & walleye fisherman), great mountain biking, hiking, camping, boating, and canoeing opportunities around just about every corner. Our farmers markets and festivals are events that people travel from hours away to experience all spring and summer long, as well as our music scene.
Our technicians are known for going above and beyond to help the customer get the best value for their work.
Our falls winters are no different, other than the flavor. Some of the best hunting in the Midwest is in our area, and the cold season fishing is nothing to shake a stick at either. People travel from around the Midwest just to experience our vibrant fall colors that can last longer than anywhere else in the country. Our main winter tourism attraction is the world-class snowmobiling. In fact, the Snowmobile World Championships are regularly held here in Eagle River. Many people take advantage of the snowmobile touring opportunities - riding from one great lodge to another across dozens of lakes and miles and miles of hardwood trail. The abundance of great microbreweries also draw people to the area in the colder months.
Our schools are some of the best in the state, with small class sizes and some highly qualified teachers who live and teach here because they want to - not because they have to. The college placement rates for students coming out of Northern Wisconsin is higher than most of the Midwest, and the college graduation rate is higher as well.
Hear Jason's story about building his career at Frasier's and raising his family in the Northwoods.
All of that is important to us and to our team, but so is how we compensate our team for their work.
We bill our customers by the job done, not by the hours work. This ensures that the customer is treated fairly, and that our technicians are paid for the work they do - not for how long they were in the customer's home. This improves the quality of life for everyone. It's certainly against the "status quo" (latin for "the mess we're all in"), but it provides our team the opportunity to earn better livings than they could just working an punch-in/punch-out job.
